Happy End of Term One (and excursion helpers needed)
Hi everyone,
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of the students in the Year Two Neighbourhood for all of their hard work this term. The Neighbourhood is starting to feel like a wonderful community of eager learners who support each other and enjoy a good laugh too. We can't wait for Term Two!
Thank you to all of our lovely parents who have helped in various ways throughout the term and who constantly show their support and encouragement for the work of the teachers at Princes Hill.
Could parents of the children in the 'Sustainability Inquiry Group' please think about whether they might be available to attend our excursion to The Arts Centre and the Botanical Garden's Children's Garden on Wednesday 17th April (First week of Term Two). We are looking for two parents.
Have a wonderful break and we look forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks.
The Year Two Neighbourhood Team (Rita, Kevin, Simone, Jeanette).

Hello All!
Here are a few photographs of our Excursion to Ceres yesterday. A good time was had by all, we definately appreciated the slightly cooler weather and we learnt some interesting things about minibeasts, planting seeds, and habitats.
Thank you to all of the parents who attended and helped us manage 69 excitable Year two students, you were invaluable.
Thank you,
The Year Two Neighbourhood Team

EXCURSION BACK ON
YEAR TWO EXCURSION TO CERES IS GOING
AHEAD TOMORROW
Dear Parent,
Due to a change in the weather
forecast, our excursion to Ceres will be going ahead tomorrow (Wednesday 13th
March). We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. The predicted
temperature is now below 30 degrees with cloud cover and a breeze so we believe
the day will be suitable for an excursion.
Please revisit our blog post
regarding the excursion to review important information like the need for
closed footwear, hat, and a rubbish-free lunch. All students will be expected
at school at 9am to mark the roll and get ready to leave by bus at 9.30am.
We would also like to remind you
that the swimming program commences this Thursday.
For regular updates, please subscribe to our blog so that you are
emailed when we publish a new post. You can do this on our blog on the top
right hand corner.
Warm Regards,
The Year Two Neighbourhood Team.

Ceres Excursion POSTPONED due to heat
Hi everyone,
Unfortunately due to the predicted 37 degree heat for next Wednesday 13th March, we will be postponing our excursion to Ceres. We will hear back from Ceres next Tuesday to change the booking but for now we are hoping it will be on Wednesday 20th March (this is not confirmed yet).
Children will be expected at school as per any normal Wednesday next week and I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused to those parents who have made arrangements so they could attend.
Never fear, the excursion will go ahead another day so we can learn all about minibeasts, food, sustainability and other exciting things.
Thank you,
The Year Two Neighbourhood Team

Place Value game: WISHBALL
This week in my Number group some students will be working on this game called Wishball from FUSE (a government-based website with great learning resources). This will help reinforce our understanding of place value.

Calling for parent volunteers for our Ceres Excursion next week
Hi all,
If any of you are able to join us on our Excursion to Ceres Community Environment Park (9.30am-2.10pm) next Wednesday (13th March) please let Simone know. So far we have two parents coming but we are keen for a few more as the whole neighbourhood will be going and we love our parents to get involved!
We have a couple of spots left on the bus but Ceres is only a short drive/ tram ride away (in East Brunswick) if we can't fit you in with us.
Have a beautiful week!
