Exciting news everyone,
The whole Year Two Neighbourhood will be visiting Ceres Community Environment Park on Wednesday 13th March for a full day program.
Our Culture Inquiry has a focus on how we can have a positive impact on our culture. While the children will be taking this Inquiry in different directions as the term unfolds, so far we have been learning about how we can have a positive impact on our Year Two Neighbourhood learning culture by caring for our physical learning space and making it more inviting. We have been planting succulents for this purpose and we are starting to learn about sustainability which will allow us to have a positive impact on our wider and global culture.
Ceres has created a program for us that will extend our current understandings and teach us much more about gardening, native wildlife, and other sustainability concepts.
The activities that we will be participating in are:
- Where Our Food Comes From (with a focus on bush foods/Aboriginal culture)
- Plant a Seed
- Worms and Minibeasts
- Animal Shelters (the importance of habitat for native animals)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Please wear appropriate clothing (shoulders covered, hats essential, covered shoes suitable for outdoor activities in varied weather conditions).
- Waste-free lunch: As per our normal school expectations with regard to lunch rubbish, please try to send your child to school with as much nude food as possible as Ceres is a waste-free park. Children will have their lunchboxes with them on the excursion.
- PARENT HELPERS: We invite any parents who wish to join us on this excursion to speak with one of the neighbourhood teachers as you are MOST WELCOME! We can give you parking/tram information in case we do not have enough seats on the bus.

See you all soon,
